Produced through a heat treatment process that increases its strength compared with annealed glass.

The glass is heated in a furnace to approximately 660 °C and then rapidly cooled, creating internal stress that improves its mechanical performance.

Processes

To be considered safety glass, this type of glass must comply with the requirements established in NOM-146. This standard defines parameters such as the number of fragments into which the glass must break and the maximum permitted size of the largest fragment. (Section 5.1)
